Privacy policy for Mint Help and WhatsApp-powered customer support

This policy explains how Mint Help handles personal data across the public site, the Chatwoot CRM workspace, and connected channels such as WhatsApp.

1. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Mint Help collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you visit minthelp.app, use chat.minthelp.app, or communicate with a business that manages customer conversations through Mint Help.

It applies to information processed through the Mint Help marketing website, the Mint Help support platform powered by Chatwoot CRM, and connected communication channels including WhatsApp, web chat, email, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how Mint Help is used, we may collect account details such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, company details, billing and login information, and support preferences.

When conversations are handled through the platform, we may process message content, attachments, contact profile details, customer identifiers, conversation history, assignment data, device and browser metadata, IP addresses, and event logs needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.

3. How we use information

Mint Help uses personal information to provide and secure the service, authenticate users, route and manage conversations, respond to support requests, generate analytics, maintain audit trails, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We may also use information to improve product performance, troubleshoot issues, send service-related notices, and support customer success and onboarding workflows.

4. WhatsApp and Meta-related processing

If a business connects a WhatsApp number to Mint Help through the WhatsApp Business Platform, Mint Help processes WhatsApp conversation data on that business's behalf so messages can be received, assigned, replied to, and stored inside the Chatwoot CRM workspace.

This may include phone numbers, profile names, message text, media attachments, delivery and read status, agent notes, labels, routing data, and related customer support metadata. Mint Help uses this information only to operate the connected communication workflow, provide customer support functionality, maintain records, detect misuse, and comply with platform and legal requirements.

Meta and WhatsApp may separately process information under their own terms and privacy policies when users interact with the WhatsApp Business Platform. Businesses using Mint Help remain responsible for ensuring they have an appropriate lawful basis to communicate with their customers over WhatsApp.

5. Sharing of information

Mint Help may share information with trusted infrastructure, hosting, analytics, communications, security, and support providers only where reasonably necessary to operate the service. We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our terms, to protect users and the platform, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer.

We do not sell personal information for third-party advertising purposes.

6. Data retention and security

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain account records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, security, or compliance obligations. Retention periods may vary depending on the workspace configuration, contract terms, and applicable law.

Mint Help uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work hard to keep the data gremlins unemployed.

7. Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, individuals may have rights to access, correct, update, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of their personal information, and to request data portability. Requests relating to customer conversation data should generally be directed to the business that collected the information through Mint Help.

Workspace owners may also manage certain retention, access, and export settings directly inside their Mint Help environment.

8. International transfers

Mint Help and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where the data was originally collected. Where required, we rely on appropriate contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards for cross-border data handling.

9. Children’s privacy

Mint Help is intended for business use and is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law to provide valid consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

10. Policy changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal, operational, or product changes. When we do, we will update the effective date on this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or the application when appropriate.

11. Contact

For questions about this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, contact Mint Help at privacy@minthelp.app or visit minthelp.app. For workspace-specific requests, you may also contact the business or workspace administrator that collected your information through Mint Help.
